Some adventures happen on dirt roads, mountain passes and remote highways. And apparently, some happen behind a microphone.
While staying in Palmer, Alaska, our friend Murph suggested that we connect with his friend Mike at Big Cabbage Radio. Before we knew it, Kristi and John were walking into a radio station for our very first radio interview.
We have to admit: we were nervous. Sitting in front of microphones knowing people would eventually be listening to our every word was definitely a new experience.
Thankfully, Mike was wonderful. He was professional, kind and had a natural way of putting us at ease. Before long, it felt less like a formal interview and more like sitting with a new friend and sharing stories.
Mike guided us through questions about YOLA, our decision to drive around the world, life on the road and some of what we had already experienced.
Mike, thank you for making our first experience behind the microphone so comfortable and memorable. And Murph, thank you for making the introduction and nudging us toward another YOLA first.
