One of our favorite things about campground life is how quickly complete strangers can become friends.

While camping in British Columbia, we met fellow Californians John and Denise from Southern California, along with their adorable pooch, Archie.

They invited us over for an Old Fashioned cocktail that Denise was mixing up. Naturally, we accepted.

What followed was one of those easy evenings filled with good conversation, travel stories and laughter. Then John introduced us to something that immediately caught our attention: his mesh fire pit.

John showed it to us. We looked at it. And apparently that was all the convincing we needed. We ordered one almost immediately.
