Not every special friend we meet along the YOLA journey has two legs.

Meet Emma, the adorable pooch belonging to our friends Peggy, Murph and Jerry in Palmer, Alaska.

Every time we arrived at their home, Emma was there to greet us. There was no need for formal introductions or complicated hospitality.

Just a sweet furry face making it very clear: “You’re here. I’ve noticed. Attention would now be appreciated.”

It didn’t take long for Emma to completely win us over.

When you’ve been living on the road for weeks at a time, there is something especially comforting about arriving somewhere and having a dog greet you as though you belong there.

Emma, thank you for making sure the YOLA travelers always received a proper welcome.
